RX's, Test Results and Other Info

Welcome to my world of Stage IV Breast Cancer! It's a crazy, surprising, frustrating and scary place full of new medicines, therapies, tests and I swear new ways to poke and prode me but get the same test result - and yet charge me a double co-pay. :p Here I want to report the latest test results I might get, new prescriptions I'm on, MRI results, X-Rays, etc. This is not only for my records, my long distance family and friends to look at and keep up with, but I'm hoping it will be of interest to other patients in the community. Who knows, it would be wonderful if someone came across my info and had a fabulous suggestion of a clinical trial I might qualify for or has a suggestion of a new and interesting therapy! Anything I can do to reach out and not only help myself, but help others.

We all know there are a lot of therapies out there to help will all kinds of illnesses and what works for one person, doesn't necessarily work for another. Going through this journey, you run into a lot of people with a lot of suggestions that have a special shot, food, exercise or whatever that has kept them alive way past their statistical end and of course I'm interested in trying anything that improves my health, better yet keeps the cancer under control or at the very least makes me feel in control of my body some way. :) Ok - so let me sum this up lol - this is usually the place where you find my latest blood test results, lists of prescriptions I'm currently on etc. Well, I moved the blood test information here for everyone that is interested. to make room for a journal here on a new substance I'm trying out called Lipsomal Vitamin C. Now, I just spend 20 min looking for a great link to give you guys explaining what it is, how you use it, etc. but there really isn't one conventional article that covers everything so maybe I'll have to write it when I finish my little experiment here  :) but basically it is regular vitamin C that is coated or mixed with a substance that allows your body to absorb it directly into the blood. From what I understand, you can take vitamin C with your multivitamins but due to the way the pills are created etc. etc. to get the high dose amount that is recommended to treat chronic conditions like cancer, you would have to eat 100 oranges. By mixing straight vitamin C with lipsomal, just a 1.5oz (or thats at least what has been recommended to me) shot of this concoction twice a day should be absorbed by the body and comparable to those high dose vitamin C IV therapies the holistic medical community has been behind for years. If you have never researched what Vita C is "thought" to do to cancer and overall health, it's definitely worth googling.

Thursday 5/30/13

Doses: AM & PM
General Feeling: Tired, Weak, could sit up at dining room table, worked on computer, chopped up stuff for smoothies, but felt blah (chemo was day before) - went to lay down flat at 5:30 and woke up by accident at about 9:30pm.
Compression: lots of numbness and pins and needles in both hands and feet, not a lot of pain, very numb even with compression socks and shoes from the knee down, trouble walking and very weak, tried not to get up too much - definitely not a day to start physical therapy. Actually the first time in this chemo round feeling so tired. Not a day to test compression limits.
